Our Approach

Understanding comes before planning.

An investment, a tax decision or a change in your business can affect other parts of your life.

We begin by understanding your circumstances and what you are considering. From there, we agree on the work that would be useful.

What we take time to understand

We focus on the parts of your life that matter to the decision at hand.

Where you stand

Your income, assets, commitments and existing arrangements.

Who and what you plan for

Family responsibilities, business interests and future priorities.

What needs attention now

The decision, concern or change that brought you to us.

How we weigh a decision

We work through four practical questions with you.

1

Purpose

What do you need this decision to achieve?

2

Timing

When might you need access to the money?

3

Risk

What uncertainty can you reasonably bear?

4

Responsibilities

How could the decision affect your taxes, family commitments or other plans?

How we work

Six steps, from first conversation to the work that follows.

01

Understand

We look at your income, assets, commitments, family responsibilities and existing arrangements. We also listen to what you want to achieve and what prompted you to speak with us now.

02

Plan

We set out your priorities: what needs attention soon, what you are planning for later and how much money you may need to keep available.

03

Suggest

We discuss possible steps across investments, tax, protection and future planning, as relevant to your situation. We explain the reasoning and implications so you can decide how to proceed.

04

Connect

We consider how those steps affect one another. An investment decision, for example, may change your tax position or the funds available for a family or business commitment.

05

Review

We examine your existing arrangements against your current priorities and identify what may need a closer look. We can revisit the plan when your circumstances change, if ongoing review is part of the work agreed with you.

06

Guide

We explain the next steps, help coordinate the work we have agreed and involve your existing professionals or another specialist where needed.

Working with the professionals you already trust

You may already work with a CA, lawyer or investment professional. We can work alongside them, with your agreement, and make clear who is responsible for each part of the work.

You have worked hard to build what you have. It deserves the same care when you decide what comes next.
